Prior to the November election, American celebrities threw enormous support behind Hillary Clinton. Whether it was Leonardi Di Caprio, Ellen De Genres, Beyonce or Jay Z, a plethora of celebrities all lined up at varying stages to support the Democratic candidate.
But despite this celebrity establishment unified in their opposition to Donald Trump, their anointed candidate lost.
This result shocked many, but for millions of average American voters, the smug nature of celebrities contributed to Clinton’s downfall, as she was perceived to be detached from ordinary people.
But while some celebrities have learnt their lesson on how not to condescendingly lecture the masses on politics, it appears that some including Meryl Streep, have not.
